Spatial distribution of fishing efforts of hook and line and ringnet fishers in Davao Gulf, Philippines

This professional practice involves the use of GIS and statistical skills to plot the movement patterns, estimate the area, and calculate the frequency distribution of where fishers usually spend their time fishing. Moreover this professional practice will also describe, compare and compute distances fished by individual fishers and compare their fishing efforts. The study investigates whether there is a change in the pattern of movement and effort distribution of artisanal and commercial fishers during the implementation of a closed fishing season policy in Davao Gulf.
