Acquiring a taste of aquaculture

The intern will join ongoing aquaculture activities at the Laboratory of Aquaculture & Artemia Reference Center (ARC), Faculty of Bioscience Engineering. These activities include firstly maintenance work of the aquaculture animals kept in stock at ARC (mainly penaeid shrimp of various stages): feeding, water quality monitoring, management of the water recirculation system, other daily observations. Other maintenance work (with rotifers, phytoplankton, brine shrimp Artemia...) may be included, depending on the needs of the moment. Additionally, and depending on the experiments ongoing at the time of the internship, the intern may join experimental work (typically e.g. feeding tests with shrimp; tests related to health management; tests with the model organism brine shrimp Artemia).
